Home Renovation & Remodeling

Wellspring Remodeling primary logo — navy blue and gold roofline with integrated W letterform

The Ask

Wellspring Home Services began as a handyman business built on the leadership and mentorship of its founder, sustained almost entirely by word of mouth. When the founder suffered a stroke, two apprentice employees made the decision to purchase the business — committed to honoring its core values while building something larger.

With new ownership came a new direction. Wellspring wanted to leave handyman services behind and establish itself as a serious remodeling and home renovation company. They needed a brand that communicated stability, quality, craftsmanship, and trust — something that felt established and professional from day one. In a market crowded with generic contractor logos, they wanted a mark that could hold its own alongside the biggest names in remodeling in Fort Collins and beyond.

The Solution

Through the development process, it became clear that the business name needed to evolve as well — from Wellspring Home Services to Wellspring Remodeling, better reflecting the company's new direction.

The logo strategy centers on groundedness and aspiration. I designed a distinctive roofline that doubles as a stylized W, integrating the initial letterform directly into the architectural silhouette of a mid-century modern home. The navy and gold palette communicates trust and quality — and if you look closely, the illuminated window detail suggests the light is always on. A little nod to the work ethic behind the brand. The custom geometric typeface reinforces that same sense of precision and intention.

The mark holds up at every scale — from embroidered hats to yard signs to vehicle wraps.

Alternate Strategies

As part of my process, I present three distinct strategic directions for each project. The client selects their preferred direction, and we refine from there. Below are the two alternate concepts explored for Wellspring.

Wellspring alternate strategy — three organic loops forming W with house shapes
Strategy 2 — Ichthus W – Faith, Work, Community
Wellspring alternate strategy — organic brown shape evoking craftsmanship
Strategy 3 — W Recliner – Relax, We've got this.
"As one of the co-owners who worked with Steve on the design, I can confidently say that he has the ability to create something that will cause your business or organization to stand out.  My business partner and I had challenges balancing what the company was to what we wanted it to be and Steve was able to sort through all the possibilities and we ended up with a logo we can be proud of.  His creativity was outstanding, and his process was thorough.  Honestly, could not recommend him more!"
